WHAT EVER WE WANT TO!!!

Vacation is on the horizon.

The family is going to Kauai - the 3 of us and my parents. 8 days 7 nights of beautiful island splendor!! We are so excited. There is a mounting pile of things to take with us. Water cameras, goggles and snorkel, water shoes, swim suits.... you get the idea.

Then Jacob goes to visit his grandmother in Arkansas for a week. There will be plenty of science museum, art projects, swimming, games.

Then Jacob goes to visit his grandparents in Oklahoma. They are going to the lake and ride on the boat, go fishing, roast marshmallows.

You may have noticed that Jacob is doing the traveling. We are coming back from Hawaii and sending him on his merry way. So you may ask, "What are you going to do with yourselves for two weeks??" and I'll refer you to the title of this post.

Have a great 4th of July - we'll think of you while we watch the fireworks on the beach.

Encouraging news

I went to the doctor yesterday. My basic problem with conceiving is that I don't ovulate regularly. Primarily due to my hormones being screwed up. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome does that.

3 years ago I saw the same doctor. Since her office is called the "Center for Reproductive Medicine" she is automatically not accepted by my insurance. We tried a couple of things in 2003 but it became too expensive.

Since then I've made some medical improvements. I've been taking an insulin medicine called Metformin, to treat the Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I've been working out. I've started some Thyroid medicine. In general - I'm much healthier than I was 3 years ago.

She did a baseline ovary sonogram. She said, "Look right here.... I think you evaluated on your own!!"

COOL. My body isn't far off from acting "normal". We are going to try a round of treatment called "clomid with mini-stimulation" Which basically means I take clomid, like we did to get pregnant with Jacob and then a booster shot - yes a shot - of hormones. Then well timed baby dancing and progesterone after that.

I'll keep you posted.

Today is the day

I go see the Doctor today. She's the head of "The Center for Reproductive Medicine". I've actually seen her once before. She's very nice - and has a great success rate. They start with cases like ours - where clomid will probably do the trick - and go all the way to IVF.

Wish us luck. If we are lucky - we'll time our prime time with our vacation to Kauai. Wouldn't that be nice!!

Where are my KEYS!!

Ok, I'll back track my steps.... yesterday: I came home from work, made dinner for the family, went to the gym, came home and did the dishes and a little laundry, took a shower and went to bed.

Today I kissed Michael good-bye and then got ready to go. I got ready for the day, Jacob fed, lunch made, bag packed etc. I started looking for my keys. They were no where to be found. I looked in my purse, car, bathroom, laundry, kitchen, computer desk, living room, couch crevice…. you name it. Nope – no keys.

I called Michael. No answer. He was giving a test to his class. I left a voicemail.

I emailed him and asked if he had my keys. He has his laptop with wireless access on campus. He emailed me back. He had my keys.

Crap. Now what do I do?? I have 4 meetings with customers on my calendar today. Not exactly stuff I can reschedule with 15 minutes notice. I have 3 different locations involved in the conference calls.

“Hello, Yellow Cab.”

$27 later Jacob is at his summer camp and I am at work.

At least I had time to finish my coffee.
