Friends

I went to a 5 week, all girls camp, for 7 years in the hill country of Texas. The last year for girls is when they are 16. Many of the same girls were in the same cabins together, year after year.

Since then I've lived in Edmond, Ok; Chickasha, Ok; Talequah, Ok; Oklahoma City, Ok; Norman,Ok; Cedar Rapids, IA; Poughkeepsie, NY; Rhinecliff, NY; Lubbock, TX.

I pledged ADPi - whose philanthropy is the Ronald McDonald house. I work at an office who is also very involved with the RMcD House. An office mate needed someone to cover her shift at the corndog stand, benefiting the RMcD House at the South Plains Fair to attend a family funeral. I was happy to do so - not a better cause.

You may wonder what in the world these have to do with one another??

Well the lady (and her husband) running the stand on behalf of the RMcD House was a friend of mine from camp. I hadn't seen her in 22 years. She's married, has boys and is a wonderful gentle soul. She's now living in Lubbock, TX. I was shocked, taken back, amazed and excited to see her again. We exchange phone numbers and have tried a couple of times to get together. We will make it happen.

I have the fortune of seeing another friend this coming weekend. She and I have been friends for 25 years!! Jacob will tell you what an eternity that is..... 'cause he was in awe that not only could I be that old, but that I could be friends with one person for that long! We are meeting half way from Edmond, OK to Lubbock, TX - in Wichita Falls, TX. We are bringing our boys with us and leaving the husbands to fend for themselves for two days. The Holiday Inn isn't glamorous - but it will be a blast. There is an indoor pool. I'm sure there's a bowling alley or a park somewhere in town. And if worse comes to worse - the portable DVD player and some movies will do just fine.

For those of you who I haven't called, or written, or emailed.... you are not out of my thoughts and hopefully we can connect very soon.

Michigan

Yes, Michigan. I know... it is COLD in Michigan. It SNOWS in Michigan. The wind blows in Michigan. It is COLD in Michigan.

Michael had another (fourth) phone interview with Michigan. They wanted to make sure he knew the salary was that of a Kinesiology ($XXK) - not a College of Business ($XXXK). He did. He doesn't care - nor do I. He'll be teaching marketing in the sports management program (loves the idea). He'll have the cap stone strategy class (loves the idea). He'll be "on faculty at Michigan" (loves the idea). He can publish with other professors in the College of Business (loves the idea).. They told him not to do anything with another school until talking with them - but they still did not invite him to campus!!!

We will see!!!

Grouchy

I hope I'm pregnant, just so I can stop these insane hormones. It is wrecking my mood. I am tired, tired, tired.

We went out on a date last night and that helped alot. We went to see Departed. Wow... what an intense movie. Very violent, but very good. I wasn't sure what it was about, but I am glad we went.

Jacob is across the street playing, Michael is playing squash. I'm going to nap.

Round 4

We are trying still for another baby.

I took my clomid and 2 days of Repronex. I have 2 folicles ready to ovulate! 1 is 18.0 mm and one is 15.7. I'm waiting on the doctor to call back.

My guess is that I'll take my hCG shot at something like 3 am so that we can do the IUI (a.k.a. turkey baster) on Sunday afternoon.

We should know something just before Halloween.

I'll keep you posted.

Sweetest little boy in town!!

In Mrs. Bullard's first grade class they have a "grab bag" of toys. Thursday the class lined up for PE. The majority of the kids went off with out waiting for the teacher. Some of the kids stayed where they were. Those who stayed got to pick a toy out of the bag. Jacob got to pick out a toy.

When I picked him up from Y-care yesterday, he came running across the gym yelling, "I HAVE A SURPRISE FOR YOU, I HAVE A SURPRISE FOR YOU!!!"

He grabbed his backpack and lunch box while I signed him out. He was fiddling with something and said, "CLOSE YOUR EYES!!"

He stood there holding a dainty silver with pink roses and little pink stones bracelet that he picked out of the grab bag for me. He was BEAMING from ear to ear and bouncing up and down and giggling....... It was so sweet. We took it out of the little box and put it on my wrist.
