New Routine

It is hard to get into a new routine. Life throws so many curve balls that nothing is the same twice. I know it has only been a few days since we started this new adventure. Afterall, we've only been in Bexley for 2 weeks, today. It will all iron out, but right now I feel like I can't finish anything. I'm being pulled in all directions. I had better gain control or I'll shut down from the chaos. Analysis paralysis is not limited to the office, it can happen in the confines of your home too.

Video of Bexley, OH

Bexley is Beautiful

There is no other way to say it. Bexley is Beautiful. Amazing scenery, parks, shops, schools - HUGE old trees line the streets and the begonias are lush.

Michael starts teaching at Otterbein in a month. Jacob starts the third grade on Tuesday. Maybe by next weekend I'll have the apartment unpacked. I am not shooting for any earlier.

I'll take some pictures and upload them soon.

Ohio here we come

In March we had our real estate agent come to our house with her decorator. They gave us a 3 page list of things to do. Selling a house is all about staging it appropriately. Empty 1/2 your contents, rearrange, paint and hang art. We did that in April.

In May we put our house on the market. We had dozens of showings. We sold it in June. We made arrangements for a place to live between closing and moving (a hotel was our option, as no one in Lubbock will do a 30 day rental!!), storing the contents of the house until we move, moving van, labor to move our stuff, utilities off, utilities on, mail stopped, mail started, medical records ordered, work moved to other Project Managers, etc....June and July have been busy.

We were supposed to close on 7/31. We still haven't closed on our house. We are now scheduled for Friday 8/8/8 at 11:00 am.

Family arrives on Thursday/Friday. Graduation is Saturday. We have dinners, receptions, brunches all scheduled for Friday/Saturday/Sunday. The kids and I will go back with my parents - to get out of the hotel, do laundry, let Rachel see the grandparents, maybe see friends while we are there for 2 days. Michael (and the dogs) will have the truck loaded Monday and drive to OKC. He will see friends on Tuesday.

We all go to St. Louis on Wednesday and Columbus on Thursday. We'll stay in a hotel on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Hopefully the truck will be there on Friday and we'll move in.

I apologize for not posting sooner. It has been a whirlwind.
